What We Thought We Once Knew…

The fact that we could ever fool ourselves into thinking we ever knew anything…

The older we climb, the more clear it becomes:

Nothing is really that clear.

There's a new angle.

Something else is expanded.

Understood.

Then the snow globe is shaken–

And you’re an infant once again.

Back to square one.

Reborn.

Becoming a child once more.

(Which is the docile way to put it) –

Humbling

Learning

Making a new start

Navigating uncharted waters

What you learned before just can’t help you here.

It really feels more like being stripped of all your weaponry in the middle of battle

And you have to grasp for new tools, new weapons

In the heat of the fight–

A stone

To hurl

But even then, with enough faith

Granted from above

Giants can be taken down.

Don’t fret–

Oh, my soul.
