Habakkuk

Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV)

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

 Being ‘In Want’

Some people call it “desire.”

Some people call it “poverty.”

Some say it’s the place of being

perfectly positioned to receive like a child.

Isn’t perspective interesting? The same reality, observed from a different angle, could be the equivalent story—just told with something else in mind. When a piece of art is consumed by a group of human eyes, each person will walk away having received something completely unique. The same instructions given to a group of people, to complete the same project, may lead to wildly different creations.

Our need for God can create a myriad of human emotions. Being “needy” can evoke all kinds of desperate reactions. Yet, still, this is precisely the avenue to receptivity. To be in want is to be well positioned to encounter the majesty of God.
