Pray Without Ceasing

Perhaps isn’t a stern request
Is not a reprimand
Judgment
Or test

What if it’s a new acknowledgement
To the spirit that’s been made
Alive by the One
Who made a way
A new way

A gift into
A portal
To see
The possibility
Of a spirit alive
Who can constantly pray:

Can plead
Feel deeply
Fast
Proclaim physically
With all of your being
Can bleed
Ache
Birth
Make
The tears
That He hears
Those which He bottles up
The record
He does keep.

The whole being
Praying
Pleading
For change
From dawn
Until dusk
With intention
Never giving up
Never giving in

Each bad habit
A deep bodily groan
To stop
Go the opposite direction
To start again
To be made new
Creating transformation
From the heart

Consider this:
Your gut instincts
Your dreams
Plans
Emotions
Stewing thoughts
All submitted to the King
All counting
Creating
Requests
That move His heart

Responding
Shifting
Changing
His mind even

All of it prayer
Without ceasing
