Resurrection

Sounds nice

New life!

A new start!

Full life—

Agape love

Fullness

Light

Did they tell you

It will also require

All that you have?

Every coin,

Every beat of your heart,

Every breath,

Every last bit of energy you have.

But don’t lose heart

Or be dissuaded

Because what’s the

Real exchange?

Did they tell you?

He will wipe every tear—

He didn’t promise you wouldn’t cry.

He will bring you good news

On your darkest days

(Or maybe on the third).

He will bind up your broken heart—

It will still bleed and hurt.

He will turn mourning to joy,

The sorrows will bear sweetness too.

The imprisoned places,

There the darkness will be pushed back

By the light.

He will bestow favor on you

To battle on—

He will bring vengeance

On all your enemies,

You may need to shield your eyes.

He promises comfort,

However daunting it gets.

Receive the process—

The process is empirically good.

And if you’re daunted,

Don’t fear.

Remember, you were made to give

Everything you have.

You were made to be fully engaged:

Every part of you

      Built for adventure

      To risk it all

      To pay the upfront cost

      To gain beauty from ashes

To be surprised by His goodness

To be fully renewed by His love

      To be filled

To be a slave, but not to the world or anything that evil will do, but to the Lover of Your Soul, your Shepherd, the One looking to give you only good. Afterall, you were created to worship something…what that is, only you can choose.

And as you come alive,

You’ll say:

“Ah, yes, this is what was meant by

full life—”

Experiencing everything that life has to offer

With the safety of knowing

Someone is forever holding your hand.

And it will all be okay

In the end.

Take courage

And have hope

On your journey.

Be strengthen by these words

And by those who battle by your side,

Bearing the testimony of all these things

They also find true.
