Timeless

My favorite thing about Jesus

(other than His rebellious side toward the systems of the world)

is His sense of timelessness.

You can encounter this with the people who walk closely with Him

or those He may have passed this to in personality.

…that person you’re with when all time seems to melt away…

There, everything seems to be happening in its “perfect time.”

Each moment there is as sacred as the next.

That moment when…your friend shows up the same particular number of minutes late to meet you–EVERY TIME.

That melody being sung together–in perfect time. The sound: so sweet, so at rest, yet somehow not at all monotonous or boring–duly whelmed. No sense of over-whelm or under-whelm here…satisfaction of cadence.

That time when…Jesus was on His way to heal a wealthy official’s daughter and He stopped to hear a woman’s WHOLE STORY. He was never in a rush.

The world was operating on HIS time.

He was no slave to time but the master of it.

He mastered slow and He dignified fast.

He could calm a storm with one swift word.

And He patiently bore with us through all…even separation unto death.

The Patient One.

The Master of Time.

The Melodic One.

The God of Pleasures Forevermore…into eternity.

“He has placed eternity in the hearts of men…” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Let’s get back to being timeless again.
